The exhibition demonstrates the pervasiveness of the animal in Egyptian art through a selection of nearly a hundred objects of the pre-dynastic period preceding the Greco-Roman period.

Echoing this exhibition, the exhibition evokes the role of fauna in the everyday life and symbolism of China and Japan.
The majority of these representations of domestic, wild or imaginary animals are funerary statuettes from tombs of the Han and the Tang dynasties.
