Applied Animation in Switzerland

20.06 → 23.09.2007
Affiche de l'exposition Animation appliquée en Suisse

Collaboration between Cinémathèque suisse (the Swiss Film Archives), GSFA (the Swiss Animation Film Group) and the mudac. The exhibition  discusses the  use of animation in commissioned works and its related thematic: advertisements, in-house company films, TV credits, TV series, promotional films, etc. A first section of the exhibition is entirely devoted  to the Volbecs' archives, a series produced for TSR and FR3 in the 1990s by Robi Engler.

In it, we see the sets designed by John Howe, but also drawings, sketches, location scouts, extracts of scripts and filming plans. The second room  gives a selection of commercials, promotional films, generic emissions  and commissioned works, which enables the visitor to become familiar with the creative, yet virtually unknown media assets of  Switzerland.
