This video game, developed specifically for the biennale, invites players to engage in dialogue with various protagonists in the near future. The exchanges provide insight into visions, experiences and ways of life. Each choice shapes the narrative around energy-related issues such as food, transport and housing from different perspectives. In this way, the tensions and paradoxes of our relationship with energy are revealed, but without imposing specific answers or behaviours.

Solstice immerses visitors in a fictional universe steeped in contemporary climate concerns. More than just a video game, it offers a narrative experience that subtly activates our collective imaginaries about the future of energy and encourages exploration of the dilemmas humanity will face by 2050. The richness of this construct lies in its multidimensional characters, whose stories illustrate the complexity of individual choices in the face of political and social challenges. Through staging that evokes an introspective mirror, Solstice engages not only the critical thinking of the players but also their empathy. Dialogue becomes a powerful tool, both for raising awareness and confronting sometimes dissonant perspectives.
By resisting the temptation to offer direct solutions and embracing the diversity of viewpoints and personal stories, Solstice creates a space conducive to questioning established frameworks and fostering the emergence of new models. This approach opens avenues for reflection on the interdependence of individual choices and global dynamics. Solstice also examines the role of interactive storytelling as a means of raising awareness about environmental issues. It thus demonstrates the capacity of video games to transcend mere entertainment and become a tool for mediation and social transformation.
