Course about design at Université Populaire

The Université Populaire de Lausanne and the mudac team to present a new course about design! A fabulous opportunity to discover its fascinating history and new trends, in 9 Thursday evening lectures, from 28 September.

Introduced in the mid-19th century with the aim to reduce production costs, design has now a fascinating history, not to mention designers full of imagination. After a brief introduction, the course will cover the history of design with the chair as its thread. It will retrace the influence of Bauhaus, how design objects become successful and who are the designers behind them. Some current trends, such as “hand-made” and “social design” will be addressed. Two lectures will also be dedicated to the relations between art and design.
