Acquisition policy

The museum’s move to Plateforme 10 represents an opportunity to redefine the acquisition policy for works and the meaning of mudac’s collections.

Since 2000 the museum has mainly focused on productions in the fields of ceramics, jewellery, graphic arts, textiles and glass. With an acquisition policy oriented towards a particular technique or material, from now on mudac wishes to focus more on the documentation of the processes involved in making an object.

Each creation is therefore accompanied by sketches, preparatory drawings, samples or prototypes. A look at productions from outside Europe is also necessary in order to consider design in the broadest sense. mudac has a duty to bear witness to the multiple meanings of design.
