This year, mudac is taking part in Design Days from 12 to 15 June 2025 with an artwork that has recently entered the collection: Affiches-artifices by the duo Pinaffo & Pluvinage.
With this project, Pinaffo & Pluvinage appeal to our childhood memories and seek to create surprise by offering us an ephemeral spectacle in the style of fireworks. Using mixtures of screen-printing inks and pyrotechnic powders derived from their own research, and drawing inspiration from the sequence diagrams used by fireworks engineers, the artists create chain-reaction patterns on paper. These are then transformed into genuine spectacles in which sparks and coloured flames intermingle for almost a minute, immortalised by video.
Acquired in 2022, these posters are now part of the mudac collection, which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday 23 August. To mark the occasion, the museum invites you to a day of festivities, closing with the burning of the Affiches-artifices at dusk.
